Unicorn and the Hare

I’m playing a lot with inks which I love doing. You never really now how it will turn out until all your stamping is finished. The background to this card I didn’t care much for but once all the stamping was finished it seem to improve.

All Dotty

I’m playing catch up with everybody’s blogs and I seem to be so behind on everything.

Here’s my next card, again using House Mouse stamp which is called ‘Perfect Harmony’.
I’ve coloured this image with Promarkers, used Distress Inks for the sky. I have put glossy accents on all the berries and added a little diamond Stickles to the snow and candle. The holly leave die is from Xcut, then finished with a few gems and pearls and finally a sentiment. The background paper is from stash.

Just One Little Kiss

It’s been sometime since I posted on my blog. I’ve been busy learning new skills during lockdown. I’ve learnt how to knit in the round and brushing up on my quilling skills. I have made lots of cards during this time and of course lots of those are Christmas themed.

I’ve been using a lot of my House Mouse Christmas stamps that I’ve collected over the years, some of them are quite old, this one I love. It’s so cute. I found a mistletoe Xcut die which suited perfectly. My favourite colour is blue for as long as I can remember, but that’s probably because somebody said it suited me and I’ve stuck with it ever since lol.

Christmas Tree

Since the weather is not showing any signs of improving, I may as well carry on crafting. I’m continuing to create Christmas cards and for this one I’ve used two stamps. The Tree is from Hobbyart called Large Evergreen. I’ve not used this stamp before and can see it has real potential in creating backgrounds. The second stamp is from Penny Black called Ice Pals. I’ve used Color Box Green Apple to stamp the tree and Promarkers to colour the PB image.

Time for Tea

I have many Penny Black stamps and to choose a favourite is almost impossible, but this one is one of the cutest.

Most of my cards I keep simple, because I like the image to remain the focus. Thus image is called Tea Cozy which I have coloured with Promarkers. Paper is from stash and I’ve added a few candy dots.

Lemonade Bubbles

I love this little image, it makes it feel like summer, even though it’s pretty dreary outside.
For my card I have used a House Mouse image called Lemonade Bubbles, which I have coloured with Promarkers. I’ve added glossy accents to the outside of the glass and just three little candy dots.

Boys Will Be Boys

I found this little stamp tuck away in a drawer. It’s from Lili of the Valley, Boy on Bike. I hear my grandsons have been out on their ‘allowed’ exercise on their bikes, getting road worthy whilst the roads have been a little quieter. Makes me feel nervous thinking of them on the road.

With this image I used Promarkers to colour, added a little kite, and some star embellishments.

Bee Awesome

With weather being a little rainy, I thought I’d make  a few cards.

This stamped image is from Pink Ink Design Bee-Utiful, and I love it. Thanks to Ellie’s Creation in her guidance to creating the wings flutter which I’ve created using acetate. I used my gel plate and Brusho’s to create the background.

Mice Cream

What lovely weather we are having and making the most of it.

Today my card has a summery theme. It’s the right weather for ice cream and I’ve use an image from House Mouse Ice cream JSHM001. I’ve used Promarkers to colour the image and added some die cut circles, gems and an ice cream embellishment.

R A I N B O W

Over at Fab n Funky the challenge is Anything but a Card and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to show one of my quilling pictures.

The strips of paper are hand cut by myself so not perfect. I’ve slightly pushed out the centre of the coils to give a raised effect.

Quilling has turned into my new found love.

C.R.A.F.T Blog Hop

I thought this would be great to do. Over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge there is a birthday blog hop. I once was a DT for this Blog but life got in the way. Things never stay the same.

Celebrating their 11th year, which is great. I don’t know how Jo does it to be honest. The theme is Birthday so why not join in.

For my card I created the background with Tim Holtz distress inks and used Lavinia stamps for the tree door, mushrooms, and Hares.

Here goes

Bicycle Ride

Another Penny Black image called  .....for a spin. Over at Penny Black Saturday the challenge is inspired by a song. This one reminds of Queen, Bicycle a Ride, which I can’t help singing in my head every time I see people on their bike rides, especially at the moment.

I used Promarkers to colour, some glossy accents on the beaks, hooves horns and bike and added a couple of die cut clouds.

Men/Boys Card

It’s lovely to drag out my Penny Black stamps again. I came across this footballer which makes a great male card. It’s called ‘On the Ball’.

I’ve kept it simple by colouring the image with Promarkers, added thre red star buttons and a football button under his foot.

Creating Your On Background

I hope you had a lovely VE Day. We had a little street tea party this afternoon.....at a distance of course. The weather was good to us.

My card this evening is a stamp by Lavinia Stamps which I love. I used distress inks for this and a little Brusho’s to splatter. I love creating a reverse image giving the appearance of a reflection.

Make it a Male Card

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any cards, but it’s because I’ve been busy making a paper quilling rainbow picture, finishing off another cardigan for my other granddaughter and doing a garden project. This lockdown is tough as a nanny. I’m missing my grandchildren so much, but better to be safe at home and one day we will be all together again, and they will be having their sleep overs.

My card this evening is a male theme. I’ve used House Mouse stamp Ride of Your Life. I’ve coloured the image in with Promarkers and added some glossy accents. The background is from an old map book. I also found a metal heart embellishment with grey polka dot ribbon threaded through.

Sunflower Girl

Lovely weather we are having. Did anyone see the Starlink Satellites last night? It came right over our home and it was incredible to see. Sadly though with the meteor shower I only got to see one shooting star.

My card today, I have used an image from Stampendous called Always Shine. I had a go at colouring with Brusho’s again and really enjoyed it this time. The sunflower chain and hat I’ve used glossy accents. I snipped always some of the backing paper and overlapped over the image. I’ve used those daisies again and added pearl centres. Found some suitable embellishments and there you have it.

And Relax

This cheeky little fella is doing the right thing. Relaxing and letting the world go by. Sadly reality isn’t like that right now, but crafting helps us to chillax.

My image is from House Mouse and today for a change I used my Brusho’s to colour the image. Was a little challenging but I thing I’ve reached the best I can do, I’ll just have to keep on practising. I’ve added some hand punched flowers adding pearl centres, a dragonfly embellishment, some twine and the papers and card from stash.

Let the Weekend Begin.

I’m just reminding myself that the weekend is here, as the days are all rolling into one. It was a rainy day today so a good opportunity to get some crafting done without feeling that I should be in the garden.

I spent most of the day making the families Christmas cards. I’m pretty please with the results. I also manage to make a birthday card. This is a real old stamp and one I’ve never used. It’s from Penny Black and called Good Friends. It’s so cute. I’ve coloured the image with Promarker pens, and made the daisies and forget-get-me-nots from punches.

11 April 2020

Christmas Wave

With the sun shining it’s hard to make Christmas cards, but I’m on a mission to get an early start. I’ve nearly finished my knitting project and a quilled picture I’ve been working on, so planning my next larger projects.

This large wooden stamp is from Whipper Snapper and called Santa, Horse and Pup. I’ve coloured this with Promarkers and added a bit of glossy accents and Snow Writer. The snowflake border is a die from Memory Box called Frostyville Border. Lastly I added a mirrored snowflake and tiny weenie snowman embellishment.

Daisies Everywhere

Easter is fast approaching and sadly I will not be able to see my grandchildren, my mum or get to the beach, but I’m happy to do my bit and stay home so we can all be safe and save lives. I’m lucky to have a garden which keeps me busy.

My card today is Easter themed, which I’m sending to my mum. She helped me punch out all the daisies from my scraps of paper.

The image is from House Mouse called Easter Surprise which I’ve coloured with Promarkers. Hand punched daisies have gems in the middle for sparkle.

Rainbow Colours

Well another few crazy days on this planet. We hope our PM recovers very quickly. Thankfully I have my crafting to loose myself for a few hours.

The stamp I’ve used for this card is from Whipper Snapper Designs and called Feathered Friends and they are just so cute and funny. I used Promarkers to colour the image using the brightest colours I had. I’ve used glossy accents on the beaks and stars and used a gelly roll pen to had a little glitter. I’ve also added two ballon embellishments.

Christmas Angel

I went for green for my Christmas card today. I have no idea why. I never plan how I’m going to set out a card, I generally do what I feel in that moment. Not always the best plan but it’s okay for me.

The stamp I’ve used is from The Greeting farm called Anya Angel, and I don’t believe I’ve ever used this stamp....

I’ve used Promarkers to colour and added a wooden snowflake which I added some gems, pearls and Angel dust to wings.

Whatever The Weather

Don’t forget your umbrella, as you never know when it’s going to rain. I thought being in isolation for the next however many weeks, that I would finish off my on going projects. Not here, I’ve started 4 more projects. One cross stitch, two knitting and one quilling picture! Not even got the puzzles out yet.

Today’s card is a stamp from Whiff of Joy which is coloured with Promarkers. I’ve added glossy accents to the umbrella, die cut clouds, a butterfly charm, some gems and a little tulip embellishment. Card and paper from stash.

Christmas Buddies

All the days seem to be merging in to one. Wasn’t sure what day of the week it was when I woke this morning, but at least we are safe. Seems no end in sight yet with this cruel virus. So looking really far ahead I made another Christmas card in a bid to be ahead of myself for the festive season.

I love House Mouse images, they are just so cute and this one is called Christmas Feathered Hugs. I’ve used Promarkers to colour the image, used glitter card, glitter glue and a gold glittery Gelly Roll pen to glitter the foliage. Paper, card and Diamanté’s from stash.

April Showers

Last day of March and what a strange month it’s been and I suspect April will be even stranger. I’ve started a new routine by getting up and doing a Zumba or aerobics session for an hour to get the day started. Not sure how long that will last for lol. It’s been too cold to go out in the garden, I’ll nip out later to water the veg seeds. Nothing’s appearing yet.

My card today is for Crafting Happiness Challenge where this weeks challenge is Anything Goes (weather).

I’ve used Penny Black stamp called .....in the Rain. I paper pieced the umbrella and skirt. Added glossy accents to the umbrella and the flower on the skirt flower and added a little gem. The rest of the image was coloured with Promarkers. I’ve scuffed up the edges with a little Tim Holtz tool I found in a box and added glitter glue on top. Card and paper from stash.

Bye for now.

Crow Talking

Squawk, squawk, squawk. That’s what I can here today, and they are trying to pinch all the bird food.

I’ve used mostly Lavinia stamp for this card. The quirky mushrooms and crows are Lavinia and the script is from Hunkdory. I created the background using Versa Fine Clair ink which I applied with make up sponges around a masked off circle, which became the moon. I’ve edge the moon in glitter glue and added a few dots around the edge. I’ve added Cosmic Shimmer Guilding Flakes to the mushrooms. I also stamped around the edge of the card in black script.

Cheeky Lil Monkey

I’m back! I only did a quick bit of weeding and tidy around the garden. It’s a bit chilly out there.

This card has just dried. I made it this morning but I’d used crystal lacquer on it and didn’t want to risk touching it. For this card I used a set of clear stamps from I think The Paper Studios or Stampabilities (not sure, but both names are on packaging) and is called Silly Monkey. I’ve used Promarkers to colour, and crystal lacquer for the monkey face, some of the leaves and the bunch of bananas.

Spring Chick

It’s the weekend, but it feels like any other day as they all seem to be merging together these days. I’m missing my grandchildren terribly, and whilst technology it fantastic, somehow it’s not quite the same. I hope this nightmare is over quickly and people stay at home, so we can all go back to living a normal existence.

My card today is from Penny Black called Surprise. It has a Spring feel to it with a touch of Easter but can be used for any occasion. I’ve coloured the image with Promarkers and added pearls and gems. Backing paper, card and ribbon are from stash. I has some left over backing card created with Brusho’s so I die cut some butterflies from it and I love the effect.

One for the Girls

So in this strange world that we are living in right now, with so many restrictions, it is important to keep up with any exercise that we can do, whether is running around in the garden or sitting in a chair doing a few movements. In my quest to get to the back of my stamp drawer yesterday, I came across yet another large stamp and it did make me smile. These ladies remind me of some of my classes I do (or did do) at our gym.

I’ve kept it simply (still struggling with my lost mojo). The stamp is from Stamps Happen and it’s called Heavy Breathing.

One for the Boys

I’m back in my craft room again, as I have now filled the garden bin which will be emptied tomorrow. Then I start all over again. I haven’t made many masculine cards so here is one that I made earlier (in fact it was for a huge HP girl fan).

I think the image is from Bugaboo, please correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve coloured with Promarkers and the bunting is the backing sheet, and I just simply cut around the flags layered on top of the image.

Going Shopping (I wish)

Shopping seems to be a thing of the past right now, not that I like shopping at the best of times. I found tucked up in the back of my stamp drawer this huge stamp. It’s from Stamps Happen called Going Shopping and it’s really quite nice.

I’ve used Promarkers to colour, gems, handbag embellishment, ribbon  and backing papers from stash.

Flower Power

It’s been another lovely sunny day here although the wind is a little chilly, but I’m sure we all love that Spring feeling (here in the UK).

The stamp I used for this card is from Impression Obsession and called Single Daisy Print. I don’t think I’ve ever used this stamp before but felt it stands alone and kept it simple using Brusho’s to colour the background. The background script stamp is from Hunkydory and I use this stamp a lot.

It’s a Christmas Card

I realise in this that I haven’t made a Christmas card for a while.

This little cutie image is from Penny Black (no surprise there then!) and is called Santa Claws. Love the play on word there.

Using Promarkers to colour, I simply added ribbon and a wooden snowflake backed by paper from stash.

Flower Pot Bunny

Another day spent gardening and my legs really ache. I don’t understand why that would be as I go to the gym 3/4 times a week...? All the solar lights are out again and my garden is currently lit up like Heathrow airport.

I did have a bit of time to create a little card this evening. My mojo is still missing but I’m sure it will return soon.

For this card I used yet another Penny Black stamp (I have so many) called Bees and Bunny, which is so cute. I’ve coloured the image with Promarkers and the background papers is from my huge stash of papers.

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafting to Keep Calm

It’s getting scarier everyday with not knowing what is going to happen with this dreadful virus and when will it end. So I’ve decided to indulge myself into crafting this evening, having spent all day in the garden trying to clear the winter debris.

For my card today I used Penny Black stamp called ‘Embrace’ which I have coloured with Promarkers. Backing paper is from stash and added a couple of 3D daisy embellishments which I got for Mother’s Day. I’ve kept it simple as I just can’t concentrate this evening, lost a bit of my mojo, but I’m sure it will be back soon. I do however love the lemon and grey colour combination. So fresh looking.

Anything with Wings

Not much crafting today, more about preparation for my first craft fair tomorrow, which I’m really looking forward too. Better remember my hand gel!

I’ve really been enjoying playing with different ink pads, my brayer and gel plate which was how I created this card.

It’s exciting to see what you created as you never know how it will turn out. I felt the blue layer lent it self to water so I put a reflection of the fairy in the water. I had never tried this technique until recently. Think I need to practise more.

Feminine and Flowers

It’s yet another dreary day in Dorset, and I’m getting pretty fed up with it now, although I know there are people who are a lot worse off and my hearts go out to them. I cannot image how it feels to loose your home to the floods.

Today’s card I used Claudia the Artist from Sugar Nellie which has been coloured with Promarkers and added flowers, gems, mribbon, backing paper, glitter card, all from my stash.

Is Spring Here Yet

Well we have rain again today. Yesterday was fabulous sunshine, so I chose a good day to do my Nordic Walking taster! Definitely taking that up again.

With Spring in mind I chose this really cute image by House Mouse called Sleeping in the Crocus which I used Promarkers to colour, embossed lilac card for backing along with black card and trimmings. I love black and lilac combo. Added a little black bow, some pearls and a flower button.

All in Pink

Not much crafting done today but I did manage to create just one little card this evening whilst listening to 60’s music ready for a showtime of 60’s music on Thursday evening. Funny how the words come back to you, even though 60’s is not really my era, I’m more of a 70’s girl.

So here is my card:

Sorry the lighting is rubbish but you get the idea. This is a Sugar Nellie image called Sitting Nellie which I’ve colour with Promarkers.

Hoppy Birthday

Yay and finally it’s the month of March and a bit of sunshine giving you a feeling of Spring in the air. Time to get the seeds out and start of the veggie growing.

Today I made a birthday card using yet another Penny Black image called Too Many Candles, which I coloured with Brusho’s. I used a Gelly Roll  pen to glitter the flames on the candles and Stickles crystal for the centre of the poppy like flowers.

That’s all for now.

Saturday Afternoon Crafting

It’s the arrival of storm Jorge here in Dorset, so a good excuse to craft all afternoon and stay warm and dry.

This card is for all occasions as I have avoided a sentiment in the front. So can be for birthdays, Mother’s Day, get well, well done, well I think you get the idea.

I’ve used a Penny Black image called You’re the Bestest, which I’ve used Brusho’s to colour except for the brown colour which was Tim Holtz distress ink antique linen, and vintage photo.

Having just discovered Brusho’s (I’m behind the times) and love experimenting with them. It’s so magical.

Brrrrr...PPPPenguins Line Up

Yes I’m still on my ‘Christmas Card’ mission.

Image is from Penny Black called ‘Carolling Penguins’ stamped in black ink and coloured with Promarkers. I tried to create a Christmas moon in the background. Added a Christmas button and a red gem. Die cut swirls, icicles and a snowflake. Backing paper from stash.

Anything Goes.

So I’m staying on target on building my stock of Christmas cards. I usually leave it to the last minute.....but not this year!

To make this card I have used a House Mouse stamp which is called Mice Snowball. It’s another cute image from those critters. I’ve used Promarkers to colour, sentiment stamps are from Crafters Companion, I’ve used corner dies from Memory Box called Snowflake Corner. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen to age it slightly.
