50th Birthday Cake

I got persuaded to make a cake for my boss. I try not to make too many these days, usually I restrict it to family only, but I crumbled (ha ha) and asked him what he would like and as he is an Accountant he settled for an old ledger book and wanted fruit cake and sponge cake! Well blow me, this was a challenge and I had wondered what I let myself in for. Doing the cake isn't the problem, it's the time that's so precious and the evenings are still dark so it's difficult in artificial light to ice cakes, but I couldn't be beaten on this one and here it is:

One half the cake is sponge and the other is fruit cake. God I hope he likes it.
It's being delivered tomorrow and whilst I'm in the area I'm doing lunch with a girlfriend and looking forward to that.
Phew what a relief it's all over. Now my next cake project is a three tier sponge wedding cake. Why don't I ever get the easy tasks!

Happy valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Hope your all getting spolit rotten by your loved ones.
Here is a card I made for my hubby. I've used two cards and joined them together. I've used backing papers from Pink Petticoat and covered the front and back of card, also making a pocket to put a heart message inside. The i and u is from some scrapbooking papers I'm using for my wedding album. The mounted hearts is a die my mum has kindly lent me which I know need to return as I've had for some time. The ribbon is from some stash I have. I'm rather pleased as it the first card I've made since having Tillie-Belle and looking forward to finding some more time to get backing into the crafting.
I hope you like. Michelle xx

Friends

Well we had a good day today. The boys were very good and Tillie-Belle is getting about everywhere. I did a curry for a change which is easy peasey and gives me plenty of time to spend with the grandchildren. I only wish my other granddaughter lived a bit closer but never mind with Face Time and Skype at least I can see her. Techno today is amazing.
Over at City Crafters the challenge is Friends and here is my card:
Right I'm off now to watch Call The Midwife.

The Season of Romance

I've just watched The Jonathan Ross show and how great it was to see Adam Ant again and in good spirits and seems to be in a happy place. I love those tunes......classic!
I completed a card for my partner for Valentines Day which I thought I would post tonight as I have the Grandchildren over tomorrow and I'm thinking I may be a wee bit shattered by the time the evening comes, but well worth it. We have to move the coffee table and keep a beady eye on Tillie-Bellie, now that she is crawling every where.
The only stamping on this card is the sentiment. I hand cut the branch and punched out hearts for the leaves. The background paper is from stash. Simple but I quite like it.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Ladybug Crafts - Vaelntines Day/Love
Milk Coffee Challenge - Valentines

I Love Promarkers - Happy Birthday

Afternoon All
This is the kind of weather that sends us straight to a 'crafty' area.
I'm baking another celebration birthday cake so whilst the first half is in the oven I thought I would post a card.
I think this another Sugar Nellie image (I may be wrong) and those free papers again.
I've used Promarkers to colour and just kept it simple.

One For The Girls

Yesterday a boy's card and today it's the girls turn!
I've recently bought a craft magazine, which I don't usually do as I had 100's and then gave them all away as I needed more room for my craft stuff. In it was a couple of owl stamps and some freebie paper and I must say I can't stop using the paper. I'm loving the colours.
So today I've created a card with what I think is a Sugar Nellie image (I could be wrong) and used my freebie backing papers:

Happy weekend

Here Come The Boys - Westerns

Hi All

Hope you are all having a great week, still very cold and can't wait for Spring and lighter evenings.
I found the perfect image for this challenge, which in fact is the first time I've used it. It's from Nellie Snellen called Jippie Yeah.

I used Promarkers to colour and found a cowboy hat embellishment in my stash. Add candi dots and a sentiment.
