April Showers

Last day of March and what a strange month it’s been and I suspect April will be even stranger. I’ve started a new routine by getting up and doing a Zumba or aerobics session for an hour to get the day started. Not sure how long that will last for lol. It’s been too cold to go out in the garden, I’ll nip out later to water the veg seeds. Nothing’s appearing yet.

My card today is for Crafting Happiness Challenge where this weeks challenge is Anything Goes (weather).

I’ve used Penny Black stamp called .....in the Rain. I paper pieced the umbrella and skirt. Added glossy accents to the umbrella and the flower on the skirt flower and added a little gem. The rest of the image was coloured with Promarkers. I’ve scuffed up the edges with a little Tim Holtz tool I found in a box and added glitter glue on top. Card and paper from stash.

Bye for now.

Crow Talking

Squawk, squawk, squawk. That’s what I can here today, and they are trying to pinch all the bird food.

I’ve used mostly Lavinia stamp for this card. The quirky mushrooms and crows are Lavinia and the script is from Hunkdory. I created the background using Versa Fine Clair ink which I applied with make up sponges around a masked off circle, which became the moon. I’ve edge the moon in glitter glue and added a few dots around the edge. I’ve added Cosmic Shimmer Guilding Flakes to the mushrooms. I also stamped around the edge of the card in black script.

Cheeky Lil Monkey

I’m back! I only did a quick bit of weeding and tidy around the garden. It’s a bit chilly out there.

This card has just dried. I made it this morning but I’d used crystal lacquer on it and didn’t want to risk touching it. For this card I used a set of clear stamps from I think The Paper Studios or Stampabilities (not sure, but both names are on packaging) and is called Silly Monkey. I’ve used Promarkers to colour, and crystal lacquer for the monkey face, some of the leaves and the bunch of bananas.

Spring Chick

It’s the weekend, but it feels like any other day as they all seem to be merging together these days. I’m missing my grandchildren terribly, and whilst technology it fantastic, somehow it’s not quite the same. I hope this nightmare is over quickly and people stay at home, so we can all go back to living a normal existence.

My card today is from Penny Black called Surprise. It has a Spring feel to it with a touch of Easter but can be used for any occasion. I’ve coloured the image with Promarkers and added pearls and gems. Backing paper, card and ribbon are from stash. I has some left over backing card created with Brusho’s so I die cut some butterflies from it and I love the effect.

One for the Girls

So in this strange world that we are living in right now, with so many restrictions, it is important to keep up with any exercise that we can do, whether is running around in the garden or sitting in a chair doing a few movements. In my quest to get to the back of my stamp drawer yesterday, I came across yet another large stamp and it did make me smile. These ladies remind me of some of my classes I do (or did do) at our gym.

I’ve kept it simply (still struggling with my lost mojo). The stamp is from Stamps Happen and it’s called Heavy Breathing.

One for the Boys

I’m back in my craft room again, as I have now filled the garden bin which will be emptied tomorrow. Then I start all over again. I haven’t made many masculine cards so here is one that I made earlier (in fact it was for a huge HP girl fan).

I think the image is from Bugaboo, please correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve coloured with Promarkers and the bunting is the backing sheet, and I just simply cut around the flags layered on top of the image.

Going Shopping (I wish)

Shopping seems to be a thing of the past right now, not that I like shopping at the best of times. I found tucked up in the back of my stamp drawer this huge stamp. It’s from Stamps Happen called Going Shopping and it’s really quite nice.

I’ve used Promarkers to colour, gems, handbag embellishment, ribbon  and backing papers from stash.

Flower Power

It’s been another lovely sunny day here although the wind is a little chilly, but I’m sure we all love that Spring feeling (here in the UK).

The stamp I used for this card is from Impression Obsession and called Single Daisy Print. I don’t think I’ve ever used this stamp before but felt it stands alone and kept it simple using Brusho’s to colour the background. The background script stamp is from Hunkydory and I use this stamp a lot.

It’s a Christmas Card

I realise in this that I haven’t made a Christmas card for a while.

This little cutie image is from Penny Black (no surprise there then!) and is called Santa Claws. Love the play on word there.

Using Promarkers to colour, I simply added ribbon and a wooden snowflake backed by paper from stash.

Flower Pot Bunny

Another day spent gardening and my legs really ache. I don’t understand why that would be as I go to the gym 3/4 times a week...? All the solar lights are out again and my garden is currently lit up like Heathrow airport.

I did have a bit of time to create a little card this evening. My mojo is still missing but I’m sure it will return soon.

For this card I used yet another Penny Black stamp (I have so many) called Bees and Bunny, which is so cute. I’ve coloured the image with Promarkers and the background papers is from my huge stash of papers.

Crafting to Keep Calm

It’s getting scarier everyday with not knowing what is going to happen with this dreadful virus and when will it end. So I’ve decided to indulge myself into crafting this evening, having spent all day in the garden trying to clear the winter debris.

For my card today I used Penny Black stamp called ‘Embrace’ which I have coloured with Promarkers. Backing paper is from stash and added a couple of 3D daisy embellishments which I got for Mother’s Day. I’ve kept it simple as I just can’t concentrate this evening, lost a bit of my mojo, but I’m sure it will be back soon. I do however love the lemon and grey colour combination. So fresh looking.

Anything with Wings

Not much crafting today, more about preparation for my first craft fair tomorrow, which I’m really looking forward too. Better remember my hand gel!

I’ve really been enjoying playing with different ink pads, my brayer and gel plate which was how I created this card.

It’s exciting to see what you created as you never know how it will turn out. I felt the blue layer lent it self to water so I put a reflection of the fairy in the water. I had never tried this technique until recently. Think I need to practise more.

Feminine and Flowers

It’s yet another dreary day in Dorset, and I’m getting pretty fed up with it now, although I know there are people who are a lot worse off and my hearts go out to them. I cannot image how it feels to loose your home to the floods.

Today’s card I used Claudia the Artist from Sugar Nellie which has been coloured with Promarkers and added flowers, gems, mribbon, backing paper, glitter card, all from my stash.

Is Spring Here Yet

Well we have rain again today. Yesterday was fabulous sunshine, so I chose a good day to do my Nordic Walking taster! Definitely taking that up again.

With Spring in mind I chose this really cute image by House Mouse called Sleeping in the Crocus which I used Promarkers to colour, embossed lilac card for backing along with black card and trimmings. I love black and lilac combo. Added a little black bow, some pearls and a flower button.

All in Pink

Not much crafting done today but I did manage to create just one little card this evening whilst listening to 60’s music ready for a showtime of 60’s music on Thursday evening. Funny how the words come back to you, even though 60’s is not really my era, I’m more of a 70’s girl.

So here is my card:

Sorry the lighting is rubbish but you get the idea. This is a Sugar Nellie image called Sitting Nellie which I’ve colour with Promarkers.

Hoppy Birthday

Yay and finally it’s the month of March and a bit of sunshine giving you a feeling of Spring in the air. Time to get the seeds out and start of the veggie growing.

Today I made a birthday card using yet another Penny Black image called Too Many Candles, which I coloured with Brusho’s. I used a Gelly Roll  pen to glitter the flames on the candles and Stickles crystal for the centre of the poppy like flowers.

That’s all for now.
