Great News

It has been a hectic few months, preparing for some exhibitions, craft fairs and now for The New Forest Fairy Festival.

I had a great time at DACA (Dorset Arts and Crafts Association) for the past five days and coming away with The Stallholders Challenge Cup. Unbeknown to me a secret shopper comes round to all the tables and chooses one that is the best presented and friendly, and I was chosen. I'm completely over the moon and here is some photos.

Feeling good!
Bye for now.

Paper Flowers

Somebody asked me the other day, what is my favourite thing to make. After lots of thoughts I decided it was paper flowers. I make 100's and 100's of the following flowers every year, selling them a local craft fairs and I never get bored of making them.  There such a variety of paper and buttons how could I get fed up making them.
I made these flowers for St Georges day.

My Star Wars Quilling Project Finished

All done. I've finally finished my quilling picture.
I'm quite pleased with the end result as I never had a plan nor have I got much experience in quilling. I just kinda went with the flow and made it up as I went along. However I can see this could have been a lot better and if I was to do this project again I would definitely do it differently.
May The Force Be With You.

Ps on my Facebook page and Instagram you can see a short video of the stages it took to complete it.

A New Project

I've decided to finally take the plunge and start a new project just for me. I have not planned it out, but in my head I have an idea, so I'm just going for it and just see what happens. I'm going to be quilling, but this will have to fit in between me making stock for the forth coming events. To be continued.....

Combined Folded Book and Paper Flowers

So over the weekend I decided to make a folded base in a book and add some paper flowers and a flat bow. I quite like it but think I'll make the vase a little taller next time.
Bye for now.

Something Old into New

One of the things I love to do is use something old and making into something new and being loved again and that's what I've done with some old maps.

Here I've made some Kusudama paper flowers out of an old map book and they look great and brighten up any corner of a room. They are simple to make and can be of any size from small to very large. You can also put them together to create a flower ball, which I've made quite a few over the years and are often used for bridesmaid bouquets.

You can use up your old buttons for the centres. I love making these.

Bye for now

Star Wars BB8 Cake

It's was my grandson birthday a couple of weeks ago and here is the cake I made him.
It wasn't hard to make. I covered the board in grey icing and painted the Death Star lights in white food colouring. I enjoyed that part the most. It's all eaten now. Got to think of something special for my granddaughter next.

First Attempts at Quilling

I met a lovely lady at a local craft fair, who gave me a bundle of quilling papers. I had daubbled a little many moons ago but nothing too adventurous.

I didn't want to make little animals or flowers but quite fancied making pictures, and so my first attempt was initials for my granddaughters, C & S. Here they are:

I was quite please with the results so though I would attempt a picture for myself and here it is:
What do you think. I loved making the home picture and it was very simple to create. Think I may do more. Have another project in mind so watch this space.
