Sketch Saturday #109

I thought I'd have another go at a challenge, and here is the Sketch Saturday challenge. For me, I found this really quite challenging. Lots to think about but really enjoyed making my card. I started making it during the England match yesterday, just couldn't bear to watch anymore of it, so I thought about shopping instead and this is what I came up with.
I hope you like it. Jeanette

Note Pads

Here are a few quick note pads that I've made ready for tomorrows school fete (well actually it's later today as it's early hours of the morning now). I've used a variety of papers, some old and some I bought very recently, and added some small embellishments. These are great for the kids. They always love to buy something that suits their pocket money, especially the little girlies. Must get some sleep now. Jeanette

PBSC WEEK 106

This weeks challenge is Travel/Holidays over at PBSC and here is my entry. This was my first BP stamp that I bought and still it is one of my favorites.

The chickens remind me of my two chickens that I once had, Salt & Pepper. 'Pepper' was rescued from an apparently 'organic' farm, but her conditions were very poor. She was so friendly and tame. 'Salt' however was an American Leghorn and was scatty as hell, but a really good layer. We don't have them anymore but we are planning to get a couple more next year.

So here is the card:

I used Promakers to colour the image which was stamped on a circle cut from my nesties and the scallop frame is cut from my new 'creatables' which only arrived today in post and was dying to have a go at. I've cut two in different colours and layered them. Hope you like it. Jeanette

Sticky Notes Holders

Here I have made some sticky note holders ready for a little school fete on Saturday. I made few quite some time ago and sold most of them at Upton House back at Easter. I needed a break from making the concertina books, as that's all I seem to be making at the moment, book after book after book!!
Some how I need to find time to make some note books as well before Saturday, but the blade has gone blunt on my cutter and can't find anywhere that does the replacement blades. Doh, I may need to invest in a new one and can't make my mind up whether to get a slide cutter again or a guillotine style one. I've also got my eye on entering a few challenges, but realised I've run out of cards, so now need to make an order. Gotta go, I'm sure I stash some cards somewhere. Jeanette

Race For Life - Yes We Did It Again!!

The view from the top of the cliff of Bournemouth pier Just trying to get to the start of the race.

Julie and I before the race (omg look at my double chin and the 'joker' mouth)

Today was Race for Life at Bournemouth Beach. This is my 8th time, which is how many years I've been living down in Dorset. My friend Julie joined me again this year, and we strutted our stuff along the promenade from Bournemouth pier, and then about 500 metres pass Boscombe pier, and then turned around to go back again. I can tell you it was approx 6850 steps, we burnt 365 calories ( also my face, chest and arms!) and it took us 55mins with one 'p' stop on the way. We never run, I don't think my knees could take the strain.
What a great day it was, especially after having just spent two weeks working at our head office in Middlesex, being cooped up in one room every night, stuffy air pollution (near Heathrow!) and the fast pace of life..........stress stress stress.....phew so glad to be back, but it was nice to see everybody again.
I'm hoping to be back with a few cards and books soon. Bye for now. Jeanette

Another First - Sketch Saturday Week 105

So here is another first. Mandy was right, this is addictive. This is the first time I've entered Sketch Saturday Challenge. Okay I may not be the greatest card maker or photographer for that matter, but I do like to have a bash and always loving a challenge. So what can I tell you about this card. Well I'm sure the very experienced card maker's will know who this image belongs to because I'm afraid I don't. This image was part of some candy that I won. Got a feeling it maybe WOJ perhaps some one can tell me. I can't even tell you about the papers either as they are in by bits 'n' bobs box. The only thing I can really tell you as that I bought the pearls in Sweden. Not very good am I. Never mind - I hope you like it anyway. Jeanette

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Week103

'In The Garden' is this weeks challenge at PBSC and this is my entry.
The stamp is called 'Haven't heard a Peep' which does have that sentiment on the stamp, but on this occasion I've omitted it. I've used a combination of Promakers and Derwent colour pencils. The pencils I've had since I was 14 yrs old which is !?!?!?! years ago and just rediscovered. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. Embellishments from stash. Hope you like it . Jeanette

My First Challenge

I decided to have a bash at a challenge and fancied a go at 'Wild Thing' which can means anything that lives or grows over at http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/. Not sure who the stamp is by as there is no maker's name on it. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I've decoupage the umbrella and given it a couple of coats of picture glaze. Ribbon and buttons from stash. Jeanette
