Still experimenting with my gel plate and ink I thought this next challenge would be good practise.
Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is Make Your Own Background.
I used the gel plate, Versa Fine ink pads and Brusho’s to create the background behind the stamped image. The stamped image is from Penny Black and called ‘Beehave’ which I’ve coloured with Promarkers. I then stamped the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tattered Rose and used a background stamp that resembles hessian.
Bye for now.

I’ve used Promarkers to colour the image and sadly I can’t tell you who this image belongs to as I found in the bottom of the drawer without it’s packaging but if anybody knows please let me know.

Fairy and Mystical
Looking through my stash I came across this little girl with butterfly wings but I’m not sure who this was may by as it’s not in its original packaging. To my mind I think it could have been Sugar Nellie but I might have that wrong.

P P P Penguin Challenge Alert!
Yep, another Christmas card. I’m loving all these challenges that are helping me to get my Christmas cards completed so early. It’s also helping me with airing my old stamps that have been stacked away for some years. How refreshing on a lovely sunny February day, good bye to the January blues.

Anything Goes
Staying with the Christmas cards, today I created another one! I bought this stamp a few years back in a sale and have never used it. I love it. It is so versatile and I think this will be one of my favs for this year.

Another Christmas Card!
I’m here again, however I’m not doing too well with the gel plate at the moment but I’m not going to give up. I need more ink pads and less interruptions from people calling out my name every ten minutes as it ruins the creative flow! Oh to be on my own just for a couple of hours.
I’ve created the following card using the gel plate to create the back ground and I’ve not used the traditional colours for Christmas (due to waiting for some new ink pads). The tree and deer stamp came free from a magazine (a long time ago) and the foliage is from Lavinia.
How pleased was I when the following challenge popped up on my blog. I was a DT many moons ago, so I’m delighted to enter this card into C.R.A.F.T. challenge - Christmas.

Two Postings in One Day!
Well this is unheard of........another posting in the same day. I know it might be a bit much, but I thought strike while the iron is hot, or rather carry on crafting whilst I have all my inks, stamps and glitter everywhere. It means I only have to clear up once and who knows what tomorrow brings. It’s how we roll here!
I’m already thinking about making lots of Christmas cards this year and here is the first.
I’m entering this card into the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers Challenge
I was amazed when I got out my Promarkers, which I haven’t used in an age, how good they still worked. I’ve had them for years.
Since I discovered Lavinia stamps and the Gel Plate, it’s inspired me to take up card making again. I’ve revisited all my old stamps, some have been shoved in old carrier bags, but I’ve lovingly pulled them back out and wondered how I could have done such a thing. They all have a new lease of life now.
This was and still is one of my favourite stamps. It’s from Stamps Happen and is called Falling Softly. I’ve used Promarkers to colour the image and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad faded Jeans to shade the edges and just a touch of Sunshine from an old Whispers ink pad, which must be 15years old.
I’m entering this card into the Passion for Promarkers challenge child/children image.

My First Challenge
This year I’ve decided to enter some challenges like I did some years ago. I’ve missed doing this and to be honest forgotten how to do it but here it goes.
I’m entering the following card into the Penny Black challenge ‘Make it Feminine’. I forgotten how to use the links but I’ll give it a try.
This stamp I’ve had for quite a few years and it’s called ‘Burst of Stars’. The background I’ve stamped it onto was created by myself with Brusho’s, and new discovery to me and love to play with.

I Have Retired
Wednesday last week was my last day of working full time. I have taken early retirement, which means I can indulge myself in more crafts. I recently did a paper cutting workshop, and I loved it and it's so addictive. Do give it a try.
I'm in the process of finishing a project for a craft exhibition in August. As I don't want to give the game away yet, I thought I'd show you a little snowman upcycled from an old pepper pot.

Book Folding - Harry Potter
Did a bit of book folding this week. I have a pattern of Harry Potter which I tried two ways. Can't make my mind up of which of the two I prefer.

Birthday Cards
I've gone back to making a bundle of birthday cards again. At my last craft event I sold lots so making new stock for my next craft event, which is this Sunday. However, I think I'm out of practise as I realised my style us pretty basic and I need to be more inventive. I think it's because lots of people like the cards to be flat for postage reasons, but I still need to improve my layouts.

Dorset Centre for Creative Arts
We had a craft fair run by Wessex Event Co in Poundbury Dorset. New area to me. I had a great day on Saturday, although Sunday was a little quieter due to the weather and we were all allowed to pack up a little earlier. Here are a few photos of my table display.

Great News
It has been a hectic few months, preparing for some exhibitions, craft fairs and now for The New Forest Fairy Festival.
I had a great time at DACA (Dorset Arts and Crafts Association) for the past five days and coming away with The Stallholders Challenge Cup. Unbeknown to me a secret shopper comes round to all the tables and chooses one that is the best presented and friendly, and I was chosen. I'm completely over the moon and here is some photos.

My Star Wars Quilling Project Finished
All done. I've finally finished my quilling picture.
I'm quite pleased with the end result as I never had a plan nor have I got much experience in quilling. I just kinda went with the flow and made it up as I went along. However I can see this could have been a lot better and if I was to do this project again I would definitely do it differently.
May The Force Be With You.

Ps on my Facebook page and Instagram you can see a short video of the stages it took to complete it.

Book Folding
I've been busy folding books again, and I have to admit my hands are aching. I've recently purchased another 100 books which I'm now ploughing through folding.
Here is my favourite heart that I love to create.
