Bournemouth Air Festive & A Christmas Card

We arrange a day out to the air fest yesterday and it was a complete washout. After sitting for hours we saw one helicopter and that was it. It was poor visibility and you can't blame the Red Arrows for abandoning their display. Terry was very disappointed but I cheered him up by secretly buying him a Red Arrows T-shirt. So on to my card of today. I'm entering this into a few Christmas challenges and they are:
A Spoonful of Sugar - Christmas, Charisma Cardz - Die Cuts - Cute Card Thursday - Sketch to follow, Winter Wonderland - Walking in a Winter Wonderland - Bah Humbug - Winter Wonderland, Creative Inspirations Challenge - Christmas in August - Stampavie & More - Chrsitmas in Summer

This very cute image is from Buzzcraft. I've used Promarker to colour and used glossy accents and Glistening Snow Writer for the snow and snowflakes. Dies cut flourishes and snowflakes are Creatables. Paper and card from stash. Hope you like it. Jeanette

Good job I took some photo's of it, little monkey. Anyway we ended up on the beach, a little windy but once I started running around trying to stop Harley running into the sea, the other little monkey, I soon warmed up........no it's not my age!!!

Here is my entry for Winter Wonderland, This week you have to make a tag. This is a tag stamp, sorry don't know who the maker is, but isn't he just the cutest snowman. He has been decoupaged and I've coloured him in with Promakers, used glistening snow writer for the snow and glossy accents on his nose and buttons. Hope you like him. Jeanette

Butterflies & Bees

I was trying to think of a way to make an easel card a bit different, and this is what I've come up with.
I've used acetate to hold the butterflies and bees. I've used 6 different stamps to create this card and can still of things that I can add but decided this was enough.

The stamps I used were: Happy Birthday sentiment is from Magenta, Best wishes etc from Penny Black, Posy border by Hero Arts, Two Sketched Butterflies by Hero Arts, Single and Trio Bess by Stampendous. The bees and butterflies have been glittered with Glamour Dust but the photo doesn't show how sparkly they look. Colour with Promarkers.

Lucas Birthday Card - Toy Story

Lucas will be 2 on Wednesday and here is his card I made this evening. Michelle & Blue took him and Harley to see Toy Story and apparently he sat glued to the screen all the way through. Not bad for a 2 year old. I understand Harley was a bit more fidgety, but that's Harley for you. I've bought him Buzz Lightyear and cant wait to see his face when I give it too him, that's if the batteries don't run out. Well you just cant help pressing them. To infinity and beyond!

Paper Play Challenge & The Wedding

Well what a fab wedding and a memorable day. Both Terry and I had a great time and a big sigh of relief that the cake travelled 100 miles in one piece and they loved the cake. The colour of the roses seemed to match perfectly. I had a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a thank you. Terry did look very dashing in his suit. It was lovely to see everybody together. Good times!
So on to the next challenge that I'm going to enter. This is the first time for Paper Play which I had spotted on Mandy's blog and the challenge is Bon Voyage. Now I've never made one of these cards before but strangely enough last weekend I did buy a sentiment stamp with it on.......how spooky....so it was just beckoning me to have a play! So here it is.
The image is from Personal Impressions which I bought from a car boot sale some years ago. The background image is from Hero Arts called Antique Map Background which I tried to colour to make it look 'vintage'. Coloured by Promarkers and used glossy accents for the water. The wheel embellishment is from Embellish It. I hope you like it. Jeanette

House Mouse & Bunny Zoe's Challenge

At House Mouse Challenge and Bunny Zoe's Crafts the theme is Vintage. Now I've not done any 'vintage' style card before that I can remember, so this was quite a challenge for me but not one to give up, I had a go, and here is my card.
I used Promarkers to colour the image (my new pens arrived yesterday!!) and then used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink around the edges of the paper and image and all over the torn corner edges but toned it down a bit with Whispers Chestnut. Hope you like it. Jeanette

The Finish of the Wedding Cake

Phew, with only one week to the wedding the cake has finally been finished. I not happy with the advise the people in the cake shop gave me (or lack of it). First they said it doesn't matter whether you start at the top or bottom. Wrong, to me it does. Trust me if you are making a cake like this, always start at the bottom and work up. Allow plenty of time to build it up gradually. Secondly, they told me to put the non toxic glitter on the roses when they had dried. Wrong again. If you put the glitter on when the roses are dried it just falls off. So my advise is let them dry for a few hours but just before the go hard give them a light dusting. I guess what I've learnt from this is to go with my own instincts!!

Bah Humbug - Not Another Christmas Card!

Oh yes indeed, it's another Christmas card. Late posting this evening as I'm on the last stretch of completing 'The Wedding Cake' which is taking me a bit longer than I thought but another 2 hours and it should be complete. It's the building of the roses that's taking time but you'll see what I mean when I post a photo. This means I've not had much time searching for challenges tonight but I have done a little visiting of some of you out there. Tonight card was fairly straight forward. The image is Penny Black and called 'Hello Winter'. She's cute and reminds me of my little niece Millie with that cheeky face. Coloured with Promarkers. Added a little bobble to her hat for dimension. I have torn three pieces of white paper/card to create a snowy slope and added crystal stickles. Used Glistening Snow Writer at the fore front of the card for a bit more dimension.

I'm entering this card in the following challenge:

Bah Humbug - Paper Tearing/ Ripping

First Kissmas

Hi, tonight I made a card for one challenge and found some others I could enter it into. The image is by Elzybells Art Stamps. Isn't he cute. He/she doesn't appear to have a name or a title......arrr shame. I've coloured him in with Promarkers, I really must invest in some more (lucky me, my birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and my mum usually gives me some money. So guess what I'm planning to spend it on teehee). I've used Glossy Accents on his nose and paws and glittered around the edges of the card. The background card has been embossed.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - No Designer Paper

Stamp Scrap and Doodle - Clean and Simple

Diecut Dreams - Mistletoe Kisses

Papertake Weekly - White and Bright

The image is from Image Tree and called Barnyard Buddies. This stamp I bought from eBay about three years ago and have never used it (got hundreds of stamps that I've never used, but just got to have them). Coloured with Promarkers. Paper, ribbon & flower beads from stash.

Bye for now. Jeanette

Charisma Cardz Challenge #30

At Charisma Cardz Challenge the theme is 'Something with a Tail' and what a great challenge for me as I have so many new House Mouse stamps that I've not used yet. Here is a card for my friend Leslie whom I haven't seen in yonks but it's a special birthday (50th) and she is having a 'bit of a do' and so I shall at last be seeing her. She was my 'going out' friend back in the 90's. OMG where has time gone and crikey do I feel old! Good times!
