Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everybody. Here is this years pumpkin. These are becoming a ritual in our house now. The boys always look forward to having a pumpkin carved. This year I took on the challenge of doing a VW campervan after seeing it on pintrest. Blue added to the challenge, buying me a monster pumpkin. Its huge and very heavy. The boys have enjoyed crafting and baking Halloween bits. They made lots of cakes and enjoyed making ghosts from milk cartons.
The best bit of the day was taking the boys to Upton Country Park to enter their pumpkin competition and winning 1st prize in the competition. Was not expecting to win, but took part for a bit of fun with the boys. Was very funny as it took the boys half an hour to realise they came 1st out of all the pumpkins there, even though they'd got a prize and had photos taken.

I actually bought this stamp last year on holiday and this is the first time I've used it.

To create this card I've used Promarkers to colour, a glittered flower, candi dots and a swirl.

It's A Bake Off

At Harleys school tomorrow, they are having a 'Bake Off' to raise money. All the children had to design a cake. Here is Harley's design:

Mum's or nan's have to make the cake to the nearest they can to the design. So nanny took on the task! Harleys instructions were, green, yellow and orange smarties on the top (I had to eat the rest), must be chocolate sponge and chocolate cream, which it is but I gave it a layer of sugar paste so it can be transported easier and less chance of little fingers pinching the cream. Here's the end result:

He hasn't seen it yet but I hope he likes it.

Knitty Knatty Knora

Here we are again with a few more projects completed, this time knitting! I've got to get all these projects finished as I have got a 'new' project on the go and that is making Tillie-Belle her own little 'Forever Friends' rug. Poor little mite may have to share the bedroom with the two monkey grandsons so we want to give the room a little splash of pink! Here are the completed knitted projects:

It's Looking A Lot Like Christmas

Hello - well I've not posted very much for a few days because I'm trying to get some Christmas goodies completed and here are a few to show you.

Sculptured Pumpkin Book

I love recycling old unwanted books - I think the new trend word is 'upcycle'. Anyway somebody I know gave me lots of old unwanted novels and I know the charity shops are in undated with books so here's what I created with one of them. This is not my idea by the way - I saw this on Pinterest and is on one of my boards HERE

I hand carved it with a stanley knife..very carefully I might add. The stem is a piece of brown card rolled and secured. Added a wide ribbon and inked the edges with orange ink pad.

Such fun!

Bling Baby Yeah

Well I'm finally getting over my cold and all in all it's been a busy time. At the weekend I attended a knitting workshop with my friend. We learnt about Steeking which was very interesting, and then after we went to a shop called Get Knitted, which was really fab and of course wool and patterns were purchased. Lttle Evie and Baby Tillie will never be without a cardigan!

Baby's 1st Christmas

Here's a a card for a baby's 1st Christmas and this year we have little Tillie-Belle who will be celebrating her 1st Christmas, not that she will remember but I'm sure there will be plenty of photos taken.
This card is not for her (the blue colour is the give away!) but it did remind me that I had better get on and get the family Christmas cards completed soon before the Christmas madness begins!

It's Red For Christmas

This a a bit more of a traditional Christmas card. The large snowflake is chipboard which I covered with sparkle Mod Podge and stamped a poinsettia, decoupage it and then added it to the centre of the snowflake. This can be removed from the card and used as a tree decoration.
