Nature is the Call of the Day

At Alphabet Challenge it is N for Nature. Wow was this difficult to choose as I had so many ideas flying around in my head, but then I opted for something quite simple. The reason I went for this image is because I've never actually used it before. Its' by Hero Arts and called 'Garden Flowers Sketch', perfect title I thought for this challenge. Coloured the flowers with Promakers and used glossy accents to the flower heads. Punch butterflies and doubled them up with velum wings and glitter bodies. The beautiful script sentiment is one of Michelle's but has no maker's name on it. Used ribbon, flower and brad from stash and of course I've used my nesties.

Hope you like it. Jeanette

Cupcake Challenge 101 & I Love Promarkers

Just a quick post today - straight to it!
Cupcake challenge this week is Pastel Christmas and
I Love Promarkers which is Christmas in July
I've used DCWV Rose-Tinted Christmas papers. Stamped image is by Rubber Stampede called Snowman with Presents which is coloured with Promarkers. Snowflake's are Marianne Design Creatables LR0123.

Bye for now. Jeanette

ABC Christmas Challenge

Another Christmas card!!! Yes but imagine the stress I'm taking out of 'the build up to Christmas'. I already know who I'm sending these Christmas cards too............let's hope they are not looking in! So for the ABC Christmas Challenge this week it is P for Presents with added Lace. Now don't forget the lace bit which was what I did, and then I saw Annie's card with added lace to her snowflake and thought it was an excellent idea, only I've gone over the top a bit with mine.......but the lace is there so I think it will count. The image is another Whipper Snapper stamp called, funny enough, Bear and Present, what else!

Stage 2 of The Wedding Cake & A Strange Carrot!

No card tonight, well not at the moment, got some 'work in progress'. Anyhoooo, I have got to the second stage of the cake, with only two weeks to go to the wedding, everything is on track, except for one thing. I hadn't bargained on the cake being so heavy. I can hardly lift it and I'm in a complete blind panic on how the 'hell' am I going to lift this into the car let alone travel 100 miles to it's destination.........oh crikey! Well too late now, I can only keep my fingers crossed, talking of which look at my strange carrot!!!

Yes I know it does look, well a little 'rude' shall we say. I have this year grown lots of my own vegetables. There are some in the ground but mostly in pots and dustbins all around the garden. There's lettuces (100's of them), beetroot, onions, spring onions, peas, parsnips, potatoes in dustbins, butternut squash, pumpkins (just for Halloween) and cucumbers.....oh yes and eaten by caterpillars broccoli, which they've really enjoyed and we wont. So the first carrot I pulled out looked like this. I'm getting very excited at what the next shape might be! Bye for now. Jeanette

Sitting Nellie with Butterflies

I originally was following a sketch challenge which I had seen and then when I double checked .........................it should have been a Christmas image.....DOH!!! And I spent ages on it, double DOH!! Still I came across a challenge tonight which I think it would fit in nicely. Flutterby Wednesday is what I'm entering which has to be, butterflies, fairy or angel. The bling on this card is those to decorate your mobile phone with and the butterfly punch is Martha Stewart.
Bye for now. Jeanette

Happy Birthday

I found this very old stamp at the bottom of a drawer full of old stamps I never use and thought I give it a go at trying to make something of it. Not sure who the maker of the stamp is as it has no name but it looks like 'Anita's' but I could be wrong. So anyway I've decoupage the cake and added glistening snow writer (again found at the back of the drawer the other day) to give it more dimension and to look like icing (yum). I'm sure the flowers were from Hobbycraft and the little diamond corners are the sort to use to decorate your mobile phone. I bought tonnes of these as they were reduced from.99p to .10p, hey what a bargain!!

I'm entering this card into the following two challenges:

Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

Pear Tree Designs - Birthday

Hope you like it. Jeanette

Just Married

I was looking for a new wedding stamp and came across this one on Ebay and I won the auction. It's by Whipper Snapper and it's a real cute image. I've decoupage the tin cans and some of the hearts. Coloured by Promarkers. Flowers, paper and pearls from 'bits 'n' bobs boxes.

I'm entering this card into two challenges, they are:
Totally Gorjuss - Congratulations
Papertake Weekly - Which is the following sketch below:

Hpoe you like it. Jeanette

PBSC Week 111

Wow, isn't hot today. Tried to do a bit of gardening but gave up in the end, far too hot for hard work! Here is my card for PBSC which this week's theme is It's Christmas in July. For this I have used a cute girly stamp called 'Xmas Ride'. This little girl reminds of my granddaughter Chloe. I've coloured her with Promarkers and added some sparkly snow on the ground and stickles to the fur on her coat, and a little sparkle to the berrys. I'm also entering this card into:
Sketch Saturday were you have to follow this sketch:
So here is my card

Hope you like it. Jeanette

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long

Hello, and I thought I'd have another go at a new challenge I've not entered before. At Christmas Stampin' All Year Long the theme is 'Buttons & Bows'. The stamp I have used was purchased from Ebay last year but I've never actually used it before. Sorry but I have no idea who the maker is of this stamp as it arrived with no details, but it is kinda cute and different. I do hope you like it. Jeanette

Summer Holidays

Well the summer holidays are here!!! (Despair for some of you, I know). So to mark my fav time of the year I thought I'd make a card with a summer theme. As I don't live far from the beach I thought I'd use 'Beachabella' (oh how I wish I had her figure).

I cut out the waves by free hand and used torn card with a little yellow stickles to make it look a bit like a beach. Sticker sandals from PM, eyelet sunshine, sentiment at the top is from 'Hero Arts' and finally I used glaze on her sunglasses and bikini. I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Summer Days

The Crafty Calender Challenge - Summer

Sir Stampalot Challenge - Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge #42 - Summer Time

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Week 110

I'm really enjoying these challenges, it stretches your imagination. This week at PBSC the challenge is 'Anything But A Card', and guess what I made.........................yes one of my little concertina books. I have made loads and load over the past month but not had the chance to post any but here is my entry. I used two stamps for this project. For the front page I used 'Roses on the Run' and for the inside of the book I used 'Labour of Love' but split it into three parts. I tried to do them in order to tell a little story and the image of the front really is the ending....if you get what I mean! Hope you like it. Jeanette

House Mouse Challenge # 74

Over at the House Mouse challenge this week is Curt's choice and this week it is anything that is the letter 'B'. So I was thinking what stamp could I use (not having that many) and then at that moment, what came through my post box, only a whole selection of my new House Mouse stamps! I purchased these from the TV, the only problem is there doesn't appear to be the names on them, but I'm still please to be the proud owner. So here is my entry.
B = Blossom Boat! Well I hope I've got away with that one!!!

I'm not sure what is wrong with this card, but I'm not that happy with the end result. I'm not happy with the ribbon, nor the colouring of the mouse. Not sure about the big flower, not sure about the leaf, the list goes on. Anyway, I love the image and hopefully I'll do a better job next time!

PB Betsy Bluebell Stamps

How excited was I when my new stamps dropped through my post box. Unfortunately I've not had much chance to play with them yet but I did manage to put one card together and here it is.

The images are so cute and the perfect size for all card sizes. They are a good quality stamp with such a sharp image. Perfecto!

Look What I've Been Making

Some how, and I really don't know how (caught in a weak moment) I've been collared into making Terry's sister's wedding cake. They are nicely marzipan'd now and I'm hoping to start the icing of them tomorrow evening. I've been making roses for the past three weeks. Just doing a couple of hours here and there, so's not to get to bogged down with them. Takes me about an hour to make approx 10. Not sure how many I'm going to need. It's one of those wedding cakes that has no pillars in between and has roses cascading down. I've made a loads and loads of wedding cakes in the past, many many years ago but not one of this design before, so it's going to be a challenge!

House Mouse - Sweet Music

With the sun shining it seemed crazy to be making another christmas card, but here it is. House Mouse are some of my favourite stamps, and how excited was I when my new collection arrived today. I can't wait to use them. I'm going to enter this card into two challenges.
Winter Wonderland - Angels & Glitter
Pear Tree Designs which is to follow the following sketch.
And here is my card

I've decoupaged the angel mouse and glittered their wings. Snowflakes have been glittered as well and are fromMarianne design 'Creatables'. The rest are from my 'bits 'n' bobs' boxes.
Hope you like it. Jeanette

PBSC Week 109

This is the sketch for PBSC
and this is my entry:

Unfortunately I do not have any kind of die cut for an oval shape and my free hand cutting or blade skills are not that good, so I'm hoping a circle is acceptable. I chose a pink and brown theme because I've used a cow image and 'Krafty Kows' theme is Pink and brown. The colours also remind me of those lovely toffees you used to get when I was a kid. Oh how wish I could chew a toffee! Anyway the image is called Bundles of wishes. I hope you like it! Jeanette

Good News and ABC Christmas Challenge

Well, how pleased am I........whoop woooooo. I won the Penny Black Challenge, and I can't believe my luck. Like an 'old fool' I went on PB blog to see if I could attempt the next challenge, quickly browsed at the names, and thought ah ha some one with the same name as me has won, how lucky are they. Click on the name to have a nose and it came straight to my blog, still it took a few seconds and another click on the button before it sunk in that it was ME! I never win hardly anything. So I wont go on about it (hehehehe), but can't wait to receive the stamps.....oooo it's like Christmas, which brings me on to the next subject.
I've not done this one before. Seems a little weird doing Christmas so soon but I know we have to make a start soon (if you haven't already). What I really like about challenges is that it makes you look at all the stamps you have stashed away for ever, like the one I've used for this.
I bought this from EBay donkey's years ago and really cheaply.
It's from Rubber Stampede called 'Ornaments' I decoupage the top four baubles, coloured with Promakers and then used picture glaze to make them nice and glossy.
I've used a piece of ice blue card and embossed it which hopefully makes it look like crackled ice. Added ribbon and some snow flakes. Die cut the letters and used holographic card.

House Mouse Monday Challenge No 73

Evening all. I thought I'd have another go at the HMMC. I had some lovely comments with my last card for this challenge, it was very encouraging and thank you all for that. As I had said before I've only got four HM stamps (well those that I have found from my stash so far) so I'm quite limited, but I do intend to purchase some more as I just love all the characters, they are so cute. I thought I'd try and keep it to mainly red, white and blue to celebrate 4th July.
The image I've used is called butterflies. I've decoupaged the butterflies and coloured them red, white and blue with a tiny bit of stickles crystals on them and then glossed over the top with picture glaze.
I'm also entering:
Prairie Fairy Designs - Anthing Goes
CraftyPad - Animal Fun
Craftalicious Challenge - Cute

Penny Black - A Scholar

What a busy weekend. We had a school fete Friday evening, which was very successful and it was nice to meet such friendly people. All the kids look like they were having great fun. It was held outside so thankfully the weather held out and turned out to be a lovely evening. So I'm busy making lots more concertina books. I will post some later in the week. But for now I decided to take a break and make a card for a couple of challenges, and here it is:The first challenge is:
PBSC week 108 which is Red, White & Blue
and I'm also entering for the first time Pear Tree Challenge Week 7 - Animals
Hope you like it. Jeanette

Stampingbella - Clickabella

I started making this card for a challenge and then realised that I missed something off or was it out, anyway it just wasn't quite right but I thought I'd post it anyway. I love the Stampingbella images, and I had forgotten just how many I have. Thought I give them a bit of airing over the next few weeks. Had a good evening tonight at a school fete and sold quite a few books again, so that's back to the craft table (as always) and staying up until 1am again to try and get some more made before the next event!! No chance tomorrow though, I've got my grandsons and I can't wait! Bye for now. Jeanette
